Weddings and Monogramming

We love a good wedding so what fun it was to display our monogramming ideas for weddings at The Ned London's annual Wedding Showcase.

What a beautiful place for a wedding.  The 100-year old Lutyens-designed building, originally built for the Midland Bank's headquarters, is rather incredible.  It's a temple to early 20th century gilded-age optimism, not to mention craftsmanship.

How we loved seeing the original Midland Bank monogram placed all over the building, from the entry threshold to the ceiling cornices to the original furniture which survived far longer than the bank itself.

The opportunity to show how weddings and monograms go so well together in this setting was a treat. To learn more about monogramming for weddings, email us for a copy of our Wedding Brochure on bespoke@initiallylondon.com. It shows some of the many ways you can use monogramming to add romantic and exceptionally personal touches for your ceremony and reception.

Monogramming for Weddings by Initially London

And how we loved meeting all the other approved vendors for weddings at the Ned, from stationers to cake bakers, musicians to magicians, and everything in between. And we especially loved being a part of the incredible team that put together the press lunch and show table, led by Claire Do Monte who is an incredibly talented wedding planner.

The gorgeous tablecloth, tableware and glassware from Maison Margaux set the foundation.  Pastel flowers with pops of blue in pretty blue willow-style vases from Paula Rooney were sat between tall wooden lamps by TDC Cordless Lighting Hire.  The height and warmth they added to the table was incredible.  Caneback chairs from The W Studio added texture and worked so well with the tablecloth.

Flickering candles from Jo Malone worked with the flowers to make the room smell divine, and stunning hand-calligraphied menus from Era Calligraphy introduced guests to the feast that was to follow.
After the initial wow factor, and some time to fully take in all the scents, sights and textures, the final layer of detail delighted everyone who sat down... their name embroidered on a blue velvet ribbon which was wrapped around a gift box, and their initials embroidered on a pretty yellow scallop napkin.

How we love hearing how these little personal touches make such a big impact.  One guest, who only confirmed the evening before the lunch, came to us to ask how we managed to get her ribbon and napkin monogrammed in time. Well, we're never going to leave anyone out!
We love making memories with monogramming, whether it's at weddings, smaller celebrations, product launches, corporate events or just dinner for two.
