May is the month when everything from the landscape to the social calendar bursts with activity. With two bank holidays and a half-term holiday for school children, it's also a great month to book a long weekend away.
There are so many fun and interesting events around the UK worth travelling to see and experience this month. Whether your interests lie in music, art, sports, food, literature, interiors, craft or elsewhere, there's a festival in May that you're sure to enjoy.
Here are a few that we find particularly monogrammable... whether it's for VIP gifting or just an opportunity to use a monogram or a themed embroidered motif on a treat for yourself.
Chelsea in Bloom - 18th to 23rd May
This is London’s largest free-to-attend festival of flowers. Chelsea’s prestigious annual floral art show decks the whole Sloane Square and Kings Road neighbourhood in themed floral displays. The theme this is year "Out of This World" and we're getting out all our zodiac embroidery motifs to celebrate. It's just a short stroll to Belgravia in Bloom for even more free floral fun.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show - 19th to 23rd May
The not-free flower show that brings the world to the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea every year.

Hay Literary Festival - 21st to 31st May
A celebration of the worlds of art, literature, science, politics, music and comedy, all in the beautiful setting of Hay-on-Wye. There's something for everyone here.

Royal Windsor Horse Show - 14th to 17th May
The Royal Windsor Horse Show is the only time of year when the private grounds of Windsor Castle are open to the public. Top-level international equestrians compete across Show Jumping, Driving, and Endurance. There are also Showing classes, international equestrian club and military displays and a huge shopping village.

London Craft Week - 11th to 14th May
This festival brings together over 1000 established and emerging makers, designers, brands and galleries from around the world. We love that it's a curated selection of artisans based on their passion for their craft rather than price or brand name.

FA Cup Finals at Wembley - 16th May (men's) and 31st May (women's)
Our local team will hopefully not disappoint at the Men's Final. And we're looking forward to seeing which women's teams will meet up on 31st May.

Regents Park Open Air Theatre - 2 May to mid-September
Drama, musical theatre, Shakespeare and more in the prettiest theatre under the stars. Monogrammed napkins at your picnic before the show are a nice little touch.
