Monogramming: Out and About

“Ostentation is back” claims fashion blogger Liana Statensen in in response to the irresistible rise of monogrammed goods on and off the red carpet this past year and we really cannot agree more.

The increasing popularity of monograms has seen notable initials splashed on accessories draped from the arms or worn on the feet by stars such as Elton John and the Jenner sisters.

But now it's not just brand monograms. Even more stars and celebs are adopting a classic monogramming tradition established by fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Goyard and Burberry, swapping the brand names for their own initials.

From bath robes to loafers, to dog coats to water bottles - the monogram has proved itself a versatile and stylish mark donned by the biggest names in showbiz, fashion and beyond - the ultimate fashion statement.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Loss also sported an iconic “Karlie” monogrammed baseball jacket to the #CellforGratitude event:

Rag and Bone recently joined the monogramming movement.
Seen below are model Alexa Chung and Georgia May Jagger’s personalised bomber jackets: super cute with the fun script - we’re quite jealous.

Alexa captioned the photo: "Thank you @rag_bone ! You really know the way to a narcissist's heart. :-) #saymynamesaymyname pt2". She's clearly a fan.

We’ve also witnessed the return of the monogrammed necklace: a throwback to the 90’s; a staple established by Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw. Cute, kitsch and eminently personal it has since been worn about the necks of young ladies all about town.  Check out our very own version here!

Initially London's very own beautiful monogrammed necklace: the perfect gift (for yourself)

With the rise of both the temperatures about London and number of people fleeing our capital off to exotic locations on holiday, we've spotted many summer staples sporting a cool, classic monogram making them all the more unique and praiseworthy from fellow beach-goers.

Following Reese Witherspoon and Vanessa Hudgens' lead is Kate Moss' half sister, Lottie, and Made in Chelsea star Frankie Gaff who below sport their monogrammed sunhats on the shores of Ibiza this summer.  We must say, they do look adorable and we're huge fans of the look.  We launched our own monogrammed Summer Sun hat this summer to bring to make you beach-ready with this fashionable and fun staple.

We're also loving the revival of the straw basket this season. You'd be mistaken in thinking that this is a bag solely for beach and picnic stints. Heidi Klum, Nicole Richie show us below that this bag is incredibly versatile as a summer handbag whether carried on to work or to a cocktail party.

Only thing missing is a big colourful monogram to add that extra level of style and personalisation. Check out our collection of monogrammed straw bags which are just perfect for any occasion.

So there you have it. 2019 is a good a time as ever to embrace ostentation and the power of personalisation on both the sweltering Spanish shores and streets of London: be it walking around town meeting-to-meeting or at a glamorous cocktail party - monograms never go amiss.
