Gift ideas for Mothering Sunday
It’s a big day! The day when you show your mum, grandmother, mother of your children how much you love them and appreciate all that they do. So don’t go visiting empty handed.
We can help you create a unique monogrammed gift for the special woman in your life that will show her just how much you care. Here are some of our best ideas, along with some additional tips for treats to accompany our bags and accessories. If you turn up to lunch with any of these goodies, you will be loved right back.
Covent Garden Market Basket – £40
Tuck some pretty spring flowers into one of our gorgeous palm leaf baskets. Our Covent Garden Market Basket has padded leather handles that come in a range of colours. Check out our other basket styles too. We recently came across a fantastic new online flower shop called FlowerBx.com which is now our go-to source, though M&S tulips will do in a pinch.
Kew Gardener’s Bag – £50
For gardening enthusiasts, our olive green gardening bag is made of heavyweight canvas. It is sturdy enough to carry all your gardening gear and has eight outside pockets to keep the most important tools accessible. Monogram with initials, a name or even a house name as shown here. If you’re feeling especially indulgent, stop by The Chelsea Gardener, our favourite local gardening centre, for some bits and pieces to tuck in the pockets.
Barnes Tote – £50
This is one of our all-time favourite monogrammed tote bags. Made of heavyweight canvas with sturdy leather handles, it is lightweight but can carry the heaviest of loads. It seems to grow as you add to it. Pockets at either end help to keep smaller contents within easy reach. The Barnes Tote comes in navy, red or brown and is the perfect blank canvas for an elegant monogram. This bag loves to travel so if you’re planning on a day out for Mother’s Day, this is a useful gift. Monogrammed Napkins – from £25 for a set of 4
Whether a lovely set of washed linen napkins for casual lunches and suppers, a crisp set of formal hemstitch linen napkins for dinner or just some cocktail squares for drinks… monogrammed napkins are sure to please. Traditionally the monogram for table linens is a single initial, either the first or surname initial. These days, however, we do what we like. Any of our Initial font options look great on monogrammed linen napkins. If you need some table inspiration, stop by David Mellor on Sloane Square, where you will find a treasure trove of kitchen and dining tools and accessories.
Windsor Waffle Robe – £70
A crisp white monogrammed robe is a personal but practical gift. We love a gorgeous initial monogram design on the front, but a name across the back also looks great. Match the thread colour for the monogram to the bedroom or bathroom colour scheme. Add a coordinating Windsor Wash Bag for a bigger impact. Include a bottle of Sarah Chapman‘s incredibly effective Overnight Body Treatment or any of her other gorgeous potions with the Windsor Waffle Robe for a really spoiling Mother’s Day treat.
Ibiza Clutch – £35
Jetting off somewhere nice for the Easter holidays? Give her a monogrammed straw clutch to throw in her tote bag and use for evenings out. Add one of our Pompom or Mirror Keyrings (£10) to give the bag even more style. For some stunning resort wear to go with your clutch, check out Wiggykit’s summer collection.
